Election Day 2008
Today is a big day in our wonderful country. By the end of this election process, we should have a new commander-in-chief and leader of the free world. I have voted, prayed, and placed it in God’s hands.
Regardless of who the winner is, we as a country need to commit to pray for him daily!
Today’s 2 hour wait to take part in our civic duty showed me a few things I wanted to share:
- I spent two hours in line with someone from a party different than mine. It was great to talk with her and hear her story!
- I witnessed the love of people in our community; people helping disabled people get out of the rain, and willingly allowing them to break in line to ease their discomfort.
- I have voted in our precinct since 2002, and I have never seen the kind of turn-out that we had this morning. That speaks volumes as to the commitment level of our community!
- It was so great to see the young (probably not even 20 yet) workers volunteering to help the election process!
Well, I want to leave you with this chart below to help you monitor the election results as they come in. Some polls just closed and South Carolina will close within the hour. Dave Anderson beat me to the punch, sharing this chart… He must have gotten off work earlier than I did
