There is Hope!
Tonight’s Town Hall for Hope was such an awesome experience. Revolution Church partnered with it’s parent church to share the message that there is hope in this economy with it’s doom & gloom media!
People tonight had real questions with a need to hear some form of hope. Here are a few of the questions I posted on their behalf on twitter to Dave Ramsey.
@townhallforhope Dave, What is the best way to establish credit as a young adult?
@townhallforhope Dave, we own lowest $$$ house in our neighborhood, would it be better to put $ into our house or invest in mutual funds?
@townhallforhope Dave, with it being a good time to buy a home, what are pros and cons to renting vs buying?
@townhallforhope Dave, how do you advise parents to teach their kids to manage money before the kids have jobs?
Though none of our questions were answered by Dave, it showed me there are real people that have real issues with real questions about their future!
Great news for those that may be uncertain about their future… There is hope, His name is Jesus.
Many who know me or read this blog may already know this, but on April 5th, Susanne and I said “enough is enough” and made the commitment to “live like no one else so that we could live like no one else” (Dave quote). We said “enough of the bondage” that debt causes!
We have tried to make dents in debt before, but with no success. Why is this time any different?
This time we sought after Jesus on the decision. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.” -Jeremiah 17:7
We know that Jesus desires us to live victorious lives and to be generous givers not only to our church, but to those in need in our community!
We didn’t just pray, but put feet to the faith. We worked hard looking and praying over our expenses. We can do this!!! You can too!!!
The foundation of Hope is found in Jesus! Those of you that may be at the end of your rope… turn to Jesus, commit yourself to Him
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” -Romans 15:13

Yeah, the financial peace university sounds very interesting- my mom is totally into Dave Ramsey too which is why I went, she keeps telling me that he has a lot of good things to say and I thought he did tonight. I think I might check out his web site for my question. Maybe since so many were asked, they’ll put up the answers to the most frequently asked questions that they couldn’t answer in the show…
