habit Day 1

Date: 31 Oct 2009 Comments: 0

In case you missed it, Revolution Church is starting a 21 day challenge to get into God’s Word leading into our first communion service. Read more about it here.

I am going to share my thoughts on the scripure passages for each day. So, grab your Bible, pen and paper and lets get started. If you wanna blog it… feel free to do that too!

Day 1 (November 1st)

Psalm 119:9-16, 105

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! 11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes! 13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. 16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.

105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

(Answer the following three questions own your own)

What does this passage say?

We should be filled with God’s Word. These verses tell me that we should commit passages to memory to remind us of God’s Glory & Grace. The Bible will guide our day to day journey, if/when we spend the time.

Why is it in the Bible?

To teach us the importance of spending time hearing God speak to us. Also to teach us how important it is to keep our way pure.

What should I do about it?

These passages are convicting for me. I read my Bible, but when I miss, I treat it as no big deal. It is a BIG deal!!! I pray that God will give me such a hungar for His Word that I will not go a day without hearing from Him through His Word!

Spend some time praying that God will help you do what you wrote down for the third question.

See, that wasn’t so hard… Take the 21 day challenge!!! I am trusting God to do great things through this habit forming challenge!
